América beat Tigres on Matchday 11 in Liga MX and are now five points off top spot. Tano Ortiz changed his starting eleven after the defeat to Pachuca and the changes paid off. The Mexican side are now focused on the game against Chivas in another edition of the Clásico Nacional.

Richard Sánchez has not held back and has responded to Victor Guzman, who after Chivas’ defeat against Puebla, said that they will make the Eagles suffer next weekend. In response, the Paraguayan player said that at América they are used to talking on the pitch.

“I don’t do that. They can start throwing s***, to say whatever they want. We know all about it, it’s a Clásico. We talk about winning on the pitch,” he said after the win.

The midfielder also emphasised the demands on the Azulcrema team after they received severe criticism throughout the week following their performance against Pachuca on matchday 10. “We are focused on us. We have to win,” he added.

Regarding the performance of Luis Malagón, who was the starting goalkeeper against Tigres, Sánchez said: “Give him confidence, we were talking to him during the week, whoever plays will do well. He has confidence and so do several players”.

Guzmán’s words ahead of Clásico

Pocho Guzmán stated the following after Chivas lost to Puebla on Friday. “Of course, América will suffer, the way the boys are playing. As I told you and I’ll tell you again, I’m so proud of all my teammates. We have to go out and win, we’re not looking for who did it to us, but who’s going to pay for it,” he said.
