Robinho dodges justice by hiding in a pro-Bolsonaro demonstration

The former Real Madrid and Man City player was seen at a demonstration in Brazil after being sentenced to nine years in prison for rape. Italy has requested his extradition.

Robinho is currently being sought by the Italian Justice department after being convicted of rape. The European country requested the extradition of the former Real Madrid, Milan and Manchester City player in order that he serves his sentence, but in Brazil the extradition of its citizens has not been allowed.

Robinho avoiding punishment, joins Bolsonaro

Despite the fact that the extradition request was submitted a month ago, the latest images of Robinho have started coming out now, on the occasion of the elections in Brazil. The former national star has been seen at one of the pro-Bolsonaro demonstrations after the victory of Lula da Silva with 50.9% of the votes, as published by the portal PopTime.

Bolsonaro’s supporters have taken to the streets since the election, blocking highways and roads throughout the country, protesting that they do not accept the results. It was in those demonstrations where Robinho appeared fully covered so as not to be recognized in the crowd, wrapped in a Brazilian flag, a hat and a mask, and with his eyes also covered by his glasses. But the outlet is sure of the person’s identity.

The former Madrid player is a follower of Bolsonaro, like other compatriots including Neymar, and did not want to miss the demonstration against the Lula government.

Sentenced to nine years in prison

The Italian Ministry of Justice sentenced Robinho to nine years in prison in January after he was deemed to have participated in a gang rape of a 23-year-old Albanian girl in 2013.

The Supreme Court upheld the judgment issued by the Milan Court and it was confirmed by the Court of Appeal. Now all that remains is to wait for Italy and Brazil to reach an agreement to bring the footballer to justice.
