Ronaldo “totally blanks” Jamie Carragher
Cristiano Ronaldo ran over to Sky Sports’ pre-game chat to greet former teammates Gary Neville and Roy Keane, but completely ignored Jamie Carragher.
Speak of the Red Devil and he shall come. The devil in this case being Cristiano Ronaldo. During the Manchester United and Liverpool game, Sky Sports reporters were chatting about Ronaldo, who’s been the talk of the media lately after he said he wants to leave Manchester United.
Among the reporters were Ronaldo’s former teammates Gary Neville and Roy Keane. Jamie Carragher had just been talking about United coach Erik Ten Hag’s decision to leave Ronaldo on the bench against Liverpool.
“If I’m being honest, I don’t think Ten Hag wants Ronaldo around the place,” said Carragher. “As soon as he’s got options, he’s put him on the bench. In two weeks time, I think he’ll be gone.”
Ten Hag may have left Ronaldo out of the starting 11, but he does continue to insist that he will excel in his system. We will see how Ten Hag lines up the team next weekend for the game against Southampton.
Just as the Sky Sports reporters were discussing him and his future, Ronaldo came up to them and greeted Neville and Keane, his former teammates. Carragher, however, he completely ignored, to the entertainment of his colleagues.
Sky host David Jones narrated the moment, telling everyone “the main man is here tonight” and asked Ronaldo if he’d speak with them, but Ronaldo just walked away.
“Nice conversation with you, Jamie,” said Jones.
“Te totally blanked me!” said Carragher.
With Ronaldo sidelined, United beat Liverpool 2-1.
