Ronaldo’s United “betrayal” claims get mixed reactions

Cristiano Ronaldo’s outspoken comments have evoked mixed reactions from soccer fans, some criticizing how he was treated, while others see him as entitled.

Update:

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan has caused quite the buzz. In the interview, he criticized manager Erik Ten Hag, saying he has no respect for him and that he and several other players have been trying to force him out of the club.

“I felt betrayed and I felt like some people don’t want me here, not only this year but last year too,” Ronaldo said.

Opinions on the matter have been mixed, with some taking Ronaldo’s side, saying that showing him disrespect is not deserved. Others, though, see him as entitled and bitter.

Twitter user @AdamMcKola said, “Can understand Ronaldo’s frustration with the club being left in the past, we all agree the Glazers haven’t invested enough. Dragging Ten Hag though? Why? This is all self-serving. Can’t accept that he isn’t the first anymore and is getting his excuses out. Sad.”

On the other side, @AdrianDelMonte said, “Any disrespect towards Cristiano Ronaldo (esp from Man Utd fans) is completely unfair. He’s endured a tough personal time off-field, and while clearly not key to the club’s long-term plans on-field, this shows that issues run deep at Manchester United. No way to treat a legend.”

@AdamCraftron pointed out that Ronaldo himself is part of the problem. “The thing is, a lot of (not all) the things Ronaldo identified last season (facilities, poor decisions, things need destroying etc) are now being addressed by Murtough and Ten Hag. The problem for Ronaldo is he was one of the poor decisions but doesn’t realize it.”
