Seattle and Pumas’ total market value ahead of the CONCACAF Champions League final

The Sounders want to become the first team in Major League Soccer to win the campaign after failing to conquer it in the past 16 editions.

Everything is set for the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League final and once again a team from MLS will try to end the Liga MX dominance in the tournament. The Mexican clubs have won the campaign in the previous 16 editions and Pumas UNAM wants to keep the winning streak in the first leg when they host the Seattle Sounders on Wednesday night.

Pumas UNAM

The capital-based team returns to the final for the first time in 17 years and they are eager to win an international trophy. Also Pumas’ head coach Andrés Lillini is aware that if he doesn’t win the CONCACAF Champions League final, the people in charge might not renew his contract beyond this tournament.

Pumas wants to win their first international trophy and represent the area in the FIFA Club World Cup later this year. According to transferrmarkt, the Liga MX side has a market value of 29.6 million dollars, which is inferior to their MLS rivals to the surprise of many.

Seattle Sounders

The Major League Soccer side has a market value of 51 million dollars and they are the favorites to win the 2022 edition. The Seattle Sounders want to end with this negative streak that the MLS clubs have against the Liga MX in the most important tournament in the area.

The Sounders have been clear since the start of the CONCACAF Champions League tournament that they want to become the first American team to win it in the past 16 editions. Seattle’s head coach Brian Schmetzer has been using the starting players in the Champions League and saving them in the first seven games of the 2022 MLS regular season.
