Spurs hire De Zerbi: all the contract details
The former Brighton manager has taken on the challenge of saving the north London club.

Roberto De Zerbi has been announced as the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, and will presumably don a yellow helmet and red overalls as he arrives in a blizzard of blue flashing lights and sirens to the burning stadium.
Spurs have ticked almost every box in the How to Get Relegated owner’s manual, having sacked two managers already and have failed to replace their departing stars over the years.
Thomas Frank was dismissed and replaced by Igor Tudor, who roundly failed to motivate the players and get them onside, going winless across a 44-day disaster. Fiery comments in his press appearances only added more fuel to the already smoking building and he has since parted ways with the club.

The Italian manager will take charge of Tottenham Hotspur in 17th place in the table, outside of the relegation zone by just a single point. They have not won a league game in 15 and are as such rock-bottom of the Premier League form table.
Reports suggest that the former Marseille coach was not fully convinced of taking on the job mid-season, and that he would have preferred to wait until the end of the campaign. However, with Spurs’ future in the Premier League hanging by a thread, he appears to have opted to try his luck at keeping them in the top division for next season.
It is said that a deal has been finally reached with De Zerbi over the past 24 hours for a 5-year contract and a wage that may put him among the top earners in the division. It has also been suggested that there is no relegation clause in the deal.
With just seven games to go, Spurs’ season is in the balance, and De Zerbi is the man they have turned to. Whether or not he can stop the tailspin remains to be seen...
