Tchouameni gives his side of “unacceptable” story
The Frenchman issued a statement on his social media.
Following Valverde’s statement yesterday regarding his altercation with Tchouameni, it was the Frenchman’s turn to speak. He did so this Friday with a statement on his social media:
“What happened this week at training is unacceptable. I say this thinking also of the example we must set for the young players, both on the pitch and at school. No matter who is right or wrong, we must always seek the calmest solution to resolve a conflict.
I am especially sorry for the image projected by the club. I know that the fans, the staff, my teammates, and the management are deeply disappointed by the way this season has unfolded. But frustration cannot excuse everything. These incidents, even if they can happen in any locker room, are not worthy of Real Madrid. All the more so because Real Madrid is the club talked about the most in the world.
The internet loves inventing the wildest stories to create buzz, so don’t believe everything that’s said or the false narratives.
Today, it’s no longer the time to look for who did what, who said what, or who was right or wrong. I accept the club’s sanction. We remain a family, with occasional disagreements, but we must always put the club’s objectives above everything else. I have apologized to the group and I also want to extend my apologies to all Madridistas.
It is now time to move forward. All our focus is on the Clásico and the season ahead, to bring the club back to its place, at the top.”
