As the domestic season winds across Europe, we now know the names of the majority of the teams that will be involved in the 2023/24 Champions League with a handful of Mexican players set to participate in the prestigious tournament.

Hirving Lozano: Napoli

After 33 years without a Serie A title win, Napoli romped to the Italian title setting off major celebrations across the southern city. Along with Victor Osimhen’s goals, Hirving Lozano chipped in with three goals and three assists for Luciano Spalletti’s side as they qualified directly for the Champions League.

Santiago Gimenez: Feyenoord

The former Cruz Azul striker has become a folk hero for fans at Feyenoord’s De Kuip stadium and his 15 goals have been instrumental in seeing the Rotterdam based side win the Dutch league for the first time since the 2016/17 season.

Eric Gutierrez: PSV

PSV secured a second place finish in the Eredivise and condemned Ajax (in third) to a Europa League place with the Mexican central player featuring in 29 league games. The Eindhoven side will have to navigate the qualifiers of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League.

Julian Araujo: FC Barcelona

Barcelona won LaLiga with a comfortable points margin over Real Madrid and will look to impose themselves in Europe after a series of disappointments in recent UEFA Champions and Europa League competitions. The Mexican Julian Araujo has been playing with the B team but could be a candidate to secure playing time for the first team in the 2023/24 campaign.
