Inter Miami will watch the finale of the MLS season on the television. However, it seems as though this unfavourable outcome for the side has given club chief David Beckham, a serial winner of just about everything, a new sense of ambition: he wants his side to become the best in MLS.

The signings of Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and the 8-time Ballon d’Or winner, names previously thought of as impossible to bring to the league, are just the beginning. It seems that the ex-Real Madrid midfielder is already looking at potential signings for the 2024 season and beyond.

According to English media outlet ‘The Daily Mirror’, after finalising the incoming deal to sign Luis Suárez, Barcelona’s 3rd all-time top scorer, Beckham will push ahead with his own version of the Galácticos at Inter Miami.

Iván Rakitic linked with MLS move

The English media outlet suggests that Beckham has in mind a few names which will act as midfield reinforcement, with the quality easily surpassing that of the current side and most MLS midfields. Iván Rakitic and Sergi Roberto, players with a shared total of 11 LaLiga titles, are the two names that are mentioned.

The MLS season showed that Sergio Busquets, despite his obvious talent, needs help in the middle of the pitch to create both a more imposing attack and a more solid defence. The Catalan has spent the season playing alongside Benja Cremaschi and Facu Farías, two hugely promising players, but figures with little experience in the big moments. However, the directors at the club believe in their talent and can see them playing in Europe in the medium-term.

The good news for Beckham us that in order to create his new Dream Team, he will not have to spend a penny in transfer fees. Iván Rakitic’s contract with Sevilla is up at the end of the season and at the time of writing, no formal offer has been placed under his nose by the club. At 35-years-old, the Croatian is a heavyweight in the club hierarchy and continues to see minutes on the pitch. Were he to renew, the contract would definitely not be a bumper deal at Sevilla, and would be somewhere around Sergio Ramos’ famous €1 million-per-year deal.

Is Sergi Roberto going to Inter Miami?

Sergi Roberto’s deal, however, looks a little trickier on the face of things. The midfielder has gone from being an undisputed starter in Xavi’s Barcelona (who play Alavés in LaLiga on Nov 12) to a complete no-show, with the arrival of João Cancelo seeing his minutes fall away drastically into the void between dimensions (224 minutes in 6 games, 37 per 90). He has a contract until 2024 that was signed at the start of the current year, meaning his signature would not cost money to bring him in, but the player is reportedly in the sights of various clubs on the continent.

Miami finally set to sign Suárez

In amongst all the names linked with moves to MLS new boys Inter Miami, only one of them is (nearly) ready to pull on the shirt: Luis Suárez. The Uruguayan is set to move to The Herons and reports suggest that the club are calm about the deal, and they are said to already be planning for his arrival in December. Over 60 goals for Liverpool and almost 150 for Barcelona, as well as 68 for his national side, El Pistolero is set to be just the first in a line of incomings that will really push the Inter Miami project to the next level.
