Tigres are still looking to bring in a Mexican reinforcement and Pumas winger César Huerta seems to fit the bill and apparently, was high up on their transfer list. Sources close to the operation told AS México that Tigres management enquired about the ex-Chivas player, only to receive a reply from their Pumas counterparts that the player is not up for sale. Huerta hopes that his future will lie playing in Europe although for the moment, it seems like he’s staying put.

The 22-year-old became a fundamental player for Pumas right at the start of Antonio Mohamed’s rein. His skills caught the attention of Tigres president Mauricio Culebro, who see him as the perfect reinforcement to strengthen the team. Tigres coach Robert Dante Siboldi has also expressly requested a winger and Huerta momentarily was on the Auriazule’s wish list and also Cruz Azul’s. Both clubs received the same negative response from Pumas.

The current Liga MX champions are next in action on Saturday when they face Juárez in Week 2 of the Apertura 2023. And the search for a long-awaited new signing continues following the recent arrivals of Eugenio Pizzuto and Carlos Felipe Rodríguez.
