Toluca have completed the signing of Paraguayan striker Robert Morales from Cerro Porteño. The operation, for a four-year deal, was carried out for a figure close to 3 million dollars along with 100% of the economic rights of the 24-year-old.

The Paraguayan club had rejected an initial offer from Toluca, but the Mexicans persisted and improved their first proposal. Morales will travel to Mexico this weekend to undergo a medical and sign his contract.

Morales still has one commitment left with Cerro Porteño before he leaves. He is expected to feature for the Ciclón in their Copa Libertadores group game clash against Ecuador’s Barcelona on 29 June, the last date of group C. Cerro Porteño are bottom of the group with just one win in five games but could still sneak a place in the Copa Sudamericana.

Morales made his First Division debut with Olimpia. In 2017 he signed for Cerro Porteño, where he won two titles, the Apertura 2020 and the Clausura 2021. With the Azulgranas, he has made a total of 58 appearances, scored 28 goals scored as well as appearing 17 times in the Copa Libertadores, with two goals.
