Torino director Davide Vagnati caught on camera fighting coach Ivan Juric

The summer transfer stress for Torino was caught in this viral video, in which Vagnati attacks Juric and allegedly calls the Torino president a d**khead.

What caused the brawl between Davide Vagnati and Ivan Juric? Why do they both keep hurling insults seemingly towards Torino’s president? Why is there a cow in the parking lot where the fight occurred? We will answer some of those burning questions you’re surely asking yourself after watching this viral video of the two Torino club members screaming at each other in Italian.

Apparently the drama in the Serie A club Torino amidst lack of signings has the higher-ups a tad stressed. The team is in Austria at the moment for the pre season, but things aren’t exactly going smoothly. Torino director Davide Vagnari was caught on video screaming at head coach Ivan Juric and actually physically trying to fight him as well. The issues regarding recruitment in this summer’s transfer window seems to be causing tension.

The fight

Vagnati allegedly accused Juric of being disrespectful for talking to the president instead of talking to him, and that’s how the fight and exchange of insults seemed to get started. A third person, possibly he team manager, Pietro Pellegri (unconfirmed), stepped in to separate the two and stop a full-on brawl from occurring.

During the fight, Vagnati repeatedly says, “don’t raise your voice to me, you have no respect!” He also yells that he defends Juric from everyone, including “that d*ckhead”, which is possibly a reference to the club’s president Urbano Cairo. Juric is heard saying, “go f*ck yourself”.

So far this summer, Torino has spent around $16 million on Samuele Ricci, Brian Bayete, Etrit Berisha, and Pietro Pellegri, and have recently signed Nemanja Radonjic on loan from Marseille. Their previous star defender Gleison Bremer left the club for Juventus for $42 million and their former captain Andrea Beloitti left for nothing. Torino finished last season in 10th place and just 20 points above relegation.

The insults towards the president plus the fact that the person who filmed (and leaked) the video is either a player or Torino staff member would indicate that there are some deeper issues going on with the club.

The make-up

Vagnati now says that he and Juric have literally “hugged it out”, saying that things got heated simply because they both just care so much about making the team the best it can be.

“We said what we needed to say, we hugged it out afterwards. We are two real people, two very honest people who say things to people’s faces, so thanks also to these discussions we can start again in the best possible way for Torino.”

After the video went viral, Vagnati was asked about the “d*ckhead” comment, and to that he said: “When there are arguments, you say things that perhaps you don’t mean. That’s not the point. It’s about understanding why it happened, which is that we both want what’s best for the club and we must try to give him the players as soon as possible.”

“The coach has his concerns,” said Vagnati. “They are legitimate, we understand that, and will try to do what needs to be done as soon as possible.”
