Transfers set to go through this summer: Brereton Díaz, Milner, Nkunku...

Brighton have been busy adding to their squad ahead of next season.

Here at AS USA, we take a look at some of the deals that are expected to happen this summer.

James Milner

Brighton are set to complete the signing of Milner, who will add some valuable experience to a young squad. The versatile Liverpool veteran will join Roberto De Zerbi’s side on a free transfer and is likely to put pen to paper on a deal until June 2024.

João Pedro

Brighton’s recruitment strategy has become a model for clubs to follow. Much of it takes place in South America, with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Julio Enciso making the move to the AMEX.

This deal came about closer to home, with the Seagulls signing Pedro (21) from Championship club Watford. And he has already said hello to the Brighton supporters, being introduced on the pitch during their recent 5-1 defeat to Sean Dyche’s Everton.

Christopher Nkunku

The spending at Stamford Bridge is set to continue over the coming months. This one was reportedly agreed at the end of 2022 and Nkunku is now preparing for the move to London from German club RB Leipzig, after a fine spell in the Bundesliga.

Ben Brereton Díaz

The Blackburn Rovers forward is out of contract this summer and has agreed to join LaLiga side, Villarreal. A fascinating story, the 24-year-old was born in Stoke-on-Trent and is a Chile international. He qualifies for Chile through his mother and he’ll be hoping to add goals to the Yellow Submarine’s forward line from 2023-24.
