The players who helped Barcelona win LaLiga: Lamine Yamal not included

The academy player is not on the list of players who have helped Barcelona win the title, despite playing against Betis on 29 April.

Lamine Yamal will miss Barcelona’s LaLiga title celebrations on Monday, as he is in training with the U17 national team for the European Championship to be held in Hungary from 17 May to 2 June.

The teenager’s name is also missing from the list of players who have contributed to winning the title, even though he made his debut under Xavi against Real Betis on 29 April, playing the last seven minutes.

The commemorative LaLiga title t-shirt worn by the Barcelona players as they left the RCDE Stadium on Sunday read, “LaLiga is ours, so is the future”, and on the back was a list of all the players who had helped make the Catalan club league champions.

Piqué included

In total, 30 players were listed, including those who are not currently at the club, like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Héctor Bellerín and Gerard Piqué, who retired from the game in November.

Among the players from the reserve and youth teams, there are also five academy graduates included in the list of winners: Arnau Tenas, Chadi Riad, Ángel Alarcón, Aleix Garrido and Marc Casadó. Goalkeeper Tenas and defender Casadó have not played a single minute in the league this league, despite being called up to more than one matchday squad

But Yamal, who has played, and is the youngest LaLiga debutant in the club’s history, has been strangely overlooked in the list of players who have played a part in the Blaugrana LaLiga’s success.
