Turpin assigned to Napoli v Real Madrid UCL clash by UEFA
The French match official oversaw Real Madrid’s 14th European Cup triumph in Paris against Liverpool in May 2022.
French referee Clément Turpin will referee Tuesday’s Champions League group stage clash between Napoli and Real Madrid at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Turpin last refereed a Real Madrid game in the 2021-2022 Champions League final, in which they beat Liverpool 1-0. There are also four other precedents for Los Blancos with Turpin in charge and all the matches have ended in victories for the Spanish side.
On this occasion for the clash in Naples, the 41-year-old will be assisted by Nicolas Danis and Alexis Auger, while Stéphanie Frappart will act as fourth official. Jérôme Brisard will also be in charge of video refereeing.
