Despite the fact that the Qatar World Cup 2022 is just around the corner, rumors of the winter market are already beginning to surface in European football. Most recently, it was announced that Manchester United could perhaps be interested in the services of Tyler Adams in January 2023.

The United States National Team midfielder has become Jesse Marsch’s right-hand man in the Leeds United midfield; he has played 10 games in the current Premier League campaign and in all of them he has been a starter, completing 90 minutes. Despite the Whites’ poor run of form, Adams has managed to be one of the standout players.

According to ‘Football Insider’, Red Devils’ interest in the American talent has been bubbling since he was at RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga and as he has adapted to the English league, they have taken notice again, considering him to be a potentially important man in Erik ten Hag’s team for the second half of the season.

Although he missed Leeds’ most recent match against Fulham (a confidence-crushing 2-3 defeat), the player from the NY Red Bulls Academy has shown that he can cut the mustard in the league, and is currently the leading player in the league for interceptions in the opposition’s half and fourth place in successful tackles since his arrival on English soil. However, it is true that his competition would be 5-time Champions League winner Casemiro, the challenge for Adams would be to see if he can step up a level once more.

Right now, Tyler Adams is focussing on recovering from the slight discomfort that kept him out of the squad last weekend so he can play the remaining games before leaving with the USMNT heading to his first World Cup tournament, where he is expected to start alongside Weston McKennie and Yunus Musah in midfield for Gregg Berhalter.
