Brenden Aaronson has settled very well at Leeds United and has quickly become a very important player at Elland Road. The United States international set up three goals in the Whites’ 6-2 win over Cagliari over the weekend in their last pre-season game - and his first assist was incredible.

Aaronson led the Whites’ attack

The former Philadelphia Union ace grabbed the ball from his own half and sent a precise long through ball with the outside of his right foot to Patrick Bamford, who scored the third goal of the night for Leeds. Aaronson was impressive, linking up extremely well with Rasmus Kristensen and Tyler Adams.

The fans at Elland Road will soon forget about Raphinha’s departure if Aaronson keeps performing at this level during the 2022/23 Premier League campaign. Head coach Jesse Marsch has been using the American as a right winger, and he has delivered brilliant performances during pre-season.

Adams on his adaptation to the Premier League side

US captain Adams has also adapted well during his first appearances for Leeds. The 23-year-old has taken control of the midfield and provided his teammates with good passes during the match against Cagliari. He was brought in after Leeds sold Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City earlier this summer.

“Kalvin Phillips is an unbelievable player. What he’s done for Leeds speaks for itself,” Adams said. “But I didn’t come in to be Kalvin Phillips. I came in to be Tyler Adams. I am a completely different player to Kalvin Phillips. He deserves that move to Manchester City but I’m just here to be myself.
