USWNT star Trinity Rodman on the road to emulating father Dennis
The daughter of legendary NBA player Dennis Rodman is the best paid player in the NWSL and now a key figure in the USWNT.
Trinity Rodman (Newport Beach, California, 2002) is on her way to becoming a household name in American women’s soccer. Sporting excellence is in here genes with her father NBA legend, Dennis Rodman with the former Chicago Bulls star being an NBA Hall of Famer and since retiring, a television personality.
Trinity has already become the highest paid player in the domestic NWSL after signing a renewal deal with the Washington Spirit which is worth ten million dollars over four years. The deal eclipses those of the likes of Megan Rapinoe or Alex Morgan with her agency Octagon Soccer confirming that Trinity has broken a new record with her salary in NWSL and becomes the highest paid player in the entire history of the league.
2021 was perfect for Rodman as her team Washington Spirit won the league and she was named NWSL Rookie of the Year and Young Female Player of the Year by U.S. Soccer.
She scored on her professional debut in April 2021 scoring against North Carolina Courage in the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup within five minutes of taking the field. Earlier in 2022, she got her first call up for the US national team and in her eight appearances for the ‘Stars and Stripes’ the striker has found the net twice and had a goal against England chalked off last week in a marginal offside call.
The Rodman name already resonates in the world of basketball and it would appear that it’s only a question of time before ot does the same in the world of soccer.
