The US women’s national team have confirmed their first games following the 2023 Women’s World Cup as Vlatko Andpnovski’s side will play two games against South Africa.

The USWNT will face the African nation in Cincinnati at TQL Stadium on 21 September and three days later in Chicago at Soldier Field on 24 September.

Both the USA and South Africa will be participating at the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand with the USA reigning holders and set to make their ninth appearance at the Women’s World Cup while South Africa is making its second.

African opposition

South Africa is just one of two African teams the USWNT has faced in its history (with Nigeria being the other) and the September meetings will be just the third and fourth matchups all-time between the two countries.

South Africa are in a tricky Group G at the 2023 World Cup where they will play Sweden, Italy and Argentina and play all their group games in New Zealand.
