Video of Klopp speaking about Vinicius and racism has gone viral again

Back in February, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke about Vinicius Junior, lashing out at a reporter for insinuating he may have provoked racist abuse.

This video shows Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp repulsed by a reporter’s question about Vinicius Junior which insinuated that the player may on occasion provoke racist abuse.

The interview was done back in February, when the Real Madrid player had been suffering from consistent racial abuse, and now, in May, it is still happening. During this interview, the reporter asked Klopp if he ever noticed that Vinicius “provoked” this horrific behavior from fans, which left Klopp shocked and frankly, a bit disgusted.

Klopp’s lashed out at the suggestion, even more so after the reporter said that Vinicus is doing something on the field to cause the racism “most of the time”.

There is nothing in the world that could justify that. Whatever he’s doing on the pitch, I don’t know, but it would be nothing,” said Klopp. “Imagine I would say, ‘yes, this part of his game could cause [racist abuse]. That’s completely insane. No, nothing.”

“As far as I know, he is a world-class player. You should not leave him in one-vs-one situations alone,” said continued, speaking to Vinicius’ character. “At a really young age, he didn’t get fussed by the way the game went [in the Champions League final], that they were not always dominant and stuff like this. He was there in the decisive moment.”

“I’m pretty sure that already makes him a Real Madrid legend at a very young age. I hope he’s not fussed by any idiots who say something about him.”
