Real Madrid don’t have their injury problems to seek at the moment. Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militão will miss the majority of the season with ACL tears, while Kepa, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Arda Güler were ruled out for a few weeks before the international break. Eduardo Camavinga was first to pick up an injury while away with his country, with winger Vinícius Junior the latest to drop in Brazil’s loss to Colombia on Thursday.

What injury did Vinícius suffer during Colombia vs Brazil?

The 23-year-old was instrumental in creating his team’s opening goal in the second minute for Gabriel Martinelli but had limited impact on the game thereafter before eventually being forced off in the 27th minute. The attacker was unable to continue after pulling up with a hamstring issue, which he later discussed in a post-match interview.

Will the Real Madrid forward play against Argentina?

“I think it’s the same injury as the last time. I took a knock and I felt it a little bit later. But we’ll do some tests tomorrow to see how it is.

It’s going to be difficult for me to play against Argentina (on Tuesday), the doctors have told me, but we’ll try everything.”

Hamstring issue a recurring problem for Vinícius

Vinicius, who has scored six goals in 13 games in all competitions for Real Madrid this season, missed four games in September because of a hamstring problem and the recurrence of the issue will be a serious cause for concern for Los Blancos, manager Carlo Ancelotti and the player himself.

After the international break, the LaLiga giants have three matches in seven days, with a Champions League home fixture against Napoli (29 November) either side of LaLiga games away to Cádiz (26 November) and versus Granada at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu (2 December). Madrid have, at least, already qualified for the Champions League round of 16, which means Ancelotti can avoid risking any players who aren’t fully fit.
