Group B’s favorites England couldn’t confirm their presence in the World Cup round of 16, as their match vs USA ended in a goalless draw.
Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, Jude Bellingham and co. went into the game against the Americans full of confidence after thrashing Iran 6-2 in their opener but they couldn’t show their goal efficiency against the Stars and Stripes.
Many thought the Three Lions would have taken the ticket to the knockout stages after facing Berhalter guys. But the USMNT showed to be actually better than their English counterparts.

How can England qualify?
The draw is not a bad outcome for the English side, as they are still leading Group B with four points, one more than Iran, who previously defeated Wales, and two more than the USMNT. The Dragons are sitting bottom with only one point.
Despite not being able to defeat their opponents, England are in a good situation to progress: if they don’t lose against Wales in their last game, they will automatically be among the 16 best teams in the world. If are victorious in that clash, they would take the top spot.
It could also happen that if Wales come out on top against the English squad and the Iran vs. US game ends in a draw, Southgate’s men would also qualify for the next round. But if England lose to Wales and either Iran or the US win, the European nation would be kicked out of the tournament.
