What games will América’s Diego Valdés miss in Liga MX?
The player doesn’t miss many games but his team will have to do without him for some time following his injury with Chile.

Diego Valdés is one of the most frequently featured players for Club América; however, he will miss the remainder of the Apertura 2023 regular season due to a muscle tear he suffered during this FIFA international break with the Chilean national team. He was substituted out of the match against Venezuela, and the player will need treatment for at least three or four weeks.

Valdés missing for América
In this context, Valdés will be absent from the matches against Santos Laguna, Monterrey, Atlético de San Luis, Tijuana, and Tigres, which will be the final ones of the regular season. He might be ready to return to the América squad for the Mexican football league playoffs (known as the Liguilla) in the quarter-finals, depending on his recovery.

Valdés’ absence will be significant for América, as he is a player who has a presence in the box and has scored six goals so far, including a brace in the Clásico Nacional against Chivas. He sits in sixth place on the scoring table, just two goals behind the leaders Carlos González and Harold Preciado.
América, led by André Jardine, is currently the top team in the league with 27 points, making them seemingly uncatchable for others. The second-place team, Tigres, has 22 points, and Pumas is in third place with 21 points.
