Following the final whistle at the Camp Nou on Sunday, Barcelona sub goalkeeper Arnau Tenas and Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal were involved in an on-pitch confrontation.

Arnau Tenas and Dani Carvajal took centre stage immediately after El Clásico on Sunday, when Barcelona’s substitute goalkeeper and the Real Madrid defender clashed on the Camp Nou pitch.

As the Barça players celebrated their 2-1 victory over their arch rivals, Tenas and Carvajal crossed paths as the Madrid team trudged off the pitch. Within seconds, the blue-touch paper had been lit.

As Carvajal angrily pointed at Tenas, others arrived on the scene to help Alba break up the confrontation. Aurélien Tchouaméni, Antonio Rüdiger and Thibaut Courtois for Madrid; Ronald Araujo and matchday delegate Carles Naval for Barça.

After moments of maximum tension, Carvajal turned and carried on walking off to towards the dressing room. Arnau, meanwhile, joined Barça’s celebrations.

Tenas vs Carvajal was the only full-on fracas of the evening, but - while it certainly wasn't an ill-tempered Clásico - there were other heated incidents.

As he tussled for the ball with Gavi in the second half at the Camp Nou, Carvajal fell to the turf after an apparent elbow by the Barcelona midfielder, who wasn’t booked.

In evident pain, Carvajal wasn’t happy at all with Gavi. Robert Lewandowski sought to justify his Barça colleague’s flailing arm by pointing to the height difference between Gavi and Carvajal.

Gavi was also at the centre of this incident, which began with a coming-together between Ceballos and Lewandowski. The Pole exchanged words with Ceballos as Madrid broke - and when the midfielder ran forward to join his team's attack, Gavi shoved him over.
