Santos Laguna, who visit the Estado Azteca this weekend, have not had a good away record against Club América in recent years. Indeed, Los Guerreros have only managed one Liga MX victory on the road against América in just under a decade.
That win came in November 2019, on matchday 17 of the Apertura 2019 tournament. The six-time Mexican champions triumphed 2-1 thanks to goals by Diego Valdés - who now plays for América - and Bryan Lozano. Andrés Felipe Ibargüen had opened the scoring for Las Águilas.

That narrow victory aside, you have to go all the way back to March 2014 to find a Santos victory at the Azteca.
Goals by Darwin Quintero, Andrés Rentería, Oribe Peralta and Juan Pablo Rodríguez earned the visitors a 4-2 win on matchday 10 of the Clausura 2014, with Rubens Sambueza and Andrés Ríos on target for the home team.
