The preliminary list of players who will be available for selection in Wednesday’s MLS SuperDraft 2023 presented by Adidas has been revealed. Major League Soccer has selected 11 outstanding college players who will be a part of the 2023 Generation Adidas class.

Generation Adidas is a collaborative venture created by Major League Soccer (MLS) and Adidas. As part of this program, MLS will sign a select group of the best collegiate underclassmen and young national team players to Generation Adidas contracts. These players will then be eligible for the SuperDraft.

The salaries of Generation Adidas players are not counted against an MLS team’s annual salary budget. This serves as an additional incentive for the club responsible for the player’s development and helps to ensure that Generation Adidas players have access to the best possible professional environment. At some point, these GA players become eligible for senior player contracts, making their salary a financial burden for a club.

The United States men’s national team defender Walker Zimmerman and Canada national team winger Tajon Buchanan are two of the seven players who began their MLS careers via the Generation Adidas program
