Having secured the women’s Ballon d’Or in October, Aitana Bonmatí of Barcelona finds herself among the three finalists for the Best Women’s Player. Her Spain teammate, Jenni Hermoso, shares the spotlight after their stellar performance in Spain’s Women’s World Cup triumph in July and August. The trio of contenders is rounded out by Real Madrid and Colombia’s Linda Caicedo. On the men’s front, the race for the Best Men’s Player features Manchester City and Norway striker Haaland, who faces competition from Inter Miami and Argentina’s Lionel Messi, as well as Paris Saint-Germain and France’s Kylian Mbappé.

Once the women’s, men’s and other awards have been announced at FIFA’s glitzy gala, the winners will step onto the stage and collect their trophy. So, how much do we know about it?

Who designed The Best FIFA award?

The award was created by Croatian artist Ana Barbic Katicic and is inspired by the ball of the first World Cup final between Argentina and Uruguay. The ball is crowned on the top of the trophy’s body and is made up of Platinum.

How tall is The Best FIFA award? What does it weigh?

The Best FIFA trophy measures 310 millimetres (just over 12 inches tall) and weighs 6.4 kilograms (14 pounds). It also consists of five sections: the lower part, the base, a piece of carbon on the base, the body, and the ball.
