What is the cheapest ticket for the World Cup round of 16?

Tickets to the World Cup 2026 have been setting record highs, but there is good news for the fans who are still looking for tickets to the round of 16.

Update:

This World Cup has been in the biggest, the largest and the most expensive in history. For those that are looking to get a last minute ticket to the the upcoming round of 16 matches, there appears to be good news on the horizon.

Prices plummeting

With teams crashing out and uncertainty surrounding the future of each country and their fan bases, tickets to the knockout rounds have been going down. The first match of the round of 16 is taking place in Houston, Texas between Canada and Morocco and according to some SeatPick.com prices are in the $400-$500 range for the cheapest tickets.

Many of the tickets that were put on sale by the World Cup organizers were reportedly gobbled up by scalpers who would go on to resell them at double, or triple the price. That made getting tickets to the group stage matches historically high.

Having the tournament spread out between three countries has brought a sense of diversity, a blending of cultures and an over feeling of unity in the pre and post match celebrations between “rival” countries. While that has been a fantastic outcome of this World Cup, the fact that the venues are spread out between three countries has produced some difficult travel itineraries for fans looking to follow their team throughout the tournament.

England vs. Mexico the big draw

The first batch of knockout matches saw drastic drops in prices. Round of 32 matches averaged $2,040 per ticket at the beginning of that stage of the tournament, but prices plummeted much to the delight of the traveling fans. Fans saw the average price drop to just $1,200 and that could be decreasing as we head into the the next stage of the tournament.

As we get closer to kickoff the prices to the matches seem to be rising again, but the Canada vs. Morocco match seems to be the match with the lowest prices, at least at the moment. The game in Houston had a low price of $349 earlier in the day, but those tickets went flying off the “shelves.”

One of the biggest matches of the round of 16, Mexico vs. England, being played in Ciudad de Mexico is still fetching a pretty penny. According to SeatPick.com as of Saturday around midday, the cheapest tickets available for that match are set at over $2,000.
