The 2023 Women’s World Cup kicks off on 20 July as co-hosts New Zealand face Norway before the ‘Matildas’ take on debutants Republic of Ireland.

The competitions will see 63 games played as 32 nations participate in what will be the biggest Women’s World Cup ever with the United States the team to beat.

An ever present at all matches will be the official 2023 Women’s World Cup mascot, Tazuni. Following the footsteps of other iconic mascots from previous tournaments, Tazuni will adorn t-shirts, mugs, caps and posters with the ‘football-loving penguin’ recently unveiled by FIFA.

Speaking at the unveiling of the mascot, FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura said: “Tazuni stands for everything which makes the Women’s World Cup unique, and her story will resonate with millions of young fans around the world”.
