The Mexican national team will have a challenging 2024 as they continue preparation ahead of the World Cup in 2026. Jaime Lozano’s project will come under scrutiny with El Tri delivering a series of questioned results after the 45-year-old’s solid start in the hot-seat.

The 2024 Copa América is set to be the standout highlight of the year and will be the second expanded edition of the competition as the 10 Conmebol (South America) nations are joined by six representatives of Concacaf (North America, Central America and the Caribbean). The tournament will be staged in the US as was the 2016 Copa América Centenario and many Mexico fans are still traumatised by the 7-0 quarterfinal elimination at the hands of Chile at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

What games will the Mexican national team have in 2024?

So far, 'El Tricolor' has seven matches confirmed for next year: two from the Concacaf Nations League, two friendlies and three from the group stage of the Copa América.

In the Nations League, the Lozano’s men will play in the Final Four and will face Panama in the semi-final on 21 March, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Win or lose, Jaime Lozano’s team will play a second match: either the final or the battle for third/fourth place.
