Panama

Haiti

Many saw Haiti as the underdog in their group—which also contained Senegal and Chile—but they turned out to be exceptional and deserving of qualification. The most memorable moment of the tournament may have been their incredible 4-0 win over Senegal in the semi-finals. Although facing tough competition from the South Americans in the final, this incredibly talented Caribbean team displayed tremendous poise and ability to ultimately prevail.

Portugal

Portugal was anticipated to finish first in Group A despite playing Cameroon, a team that had advanced to the knockout round in the previous two Women’s World Cups. This is because they are one of the game’s up-and-coming powerhouses, and their stunning 5-0 victory over New Zealand in the warm-up for the match served as proof of that. With players like Jessica Silva, Ana Seica, and Kika Nazareth on the team, Francisco Neto’s Portugal has won eight straight games and will definitely be a compelling force on the world stage.

When does the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup take place?

Panama will join France, Brazil and Jamaica in Group F of the tournament proper, which will be played in Australia and New Zealand. The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup will get underway on 20 July and run for a month, with the final being played in Sydney on 20 August.
