El Clásico will be coming to the United States for the third year in succession in 2024, with Real Madrid taking on Barcelona at MetLife Stadium in New York on 3 August as part of the LaLiga giants’ respective pre-season tours of the United States.

Both teams will play three matches stateside in the Soccer Champions Tour 2024 as they gear up for the 2024/25 season, at the end of which Madrid will return to the US for the new incarnation of the FIFA Club World Cup (15 June to 23 July 2025). Barça haven’t qualified for the tournament, largely as a result of their recent struggles in the Champions League.

El Clásico will be the middle game of the clubs’ three-match tours, which will begin right at the end of July and finish at the end of the first week of August.

Barcelona will be the first of the two in action, facing Manchester City - and former manager Pep Guardiola - at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday 30 July. It will be the first time they have ever played in the city.

The Catalans then head north to New Jersey for a “friendly” Clásico at MetLife Stadium on Saturday 3 August, before finishing up against AC Milan at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland on Tuesday 6 August.

How can I get tickets to watch Real Madrid and Barcelona in the United States?

For anyone who is interested in attending any of the games, the Soccer Champions Tour website should be your first port of call, although there are also some tickets for sale on ticketing platforms including Ticketmaster and StubHub.

How many times have Real Madrid and Barcelona played in the US? What happened?

Real Madrid and Barcelona have played each other on three occasions in the United States, with the Catalans winning each time.

In 2017 in Miami, Lionel Messi was among the scorers in a 3-2 victory at Hard Rock Stadium, although Los Blancos gained immediate revenge by winning both legs of the Spanish Super Cup just a couple of weeks later.

Las Vegas hosted the second Clásico on US soil five years later, with Raphinha scoring the only goal at Allegiant Stadium. Barça recorded a much more emphatic victory last summer, but their 3-0 triumph at AT&T Stadium in Dallas doesn’t appear to have been an especially good omen as the end of this season approaches.
