Your favourite European leagues, including the Premier League and LaLiga, are all up and running and we don’t have to wait too much longer to see the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich return to action in the UEFA Champions League.
The preliminary qualifying round for the 2023-24 tournament began just a couple of weeks after Manchester City defeated Inter to win the 2022-23 edition and just 12 teams are now competing for the six remaining spots in this season’s group stage, with 26 clubs already having their names in the hat for the draw.
2023-24 Champions League play-off round
The first legs of the play-off round were played on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 August, with the second legs following on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 August. The winners of these six ties will go into the draw for the group stage.

Which teams have already qualified for the 2023-24 Champions League group stage?
The list of already qualified teams for the group stage is mostly made up of the usual suspects, although Newcastle United and Lens are back after lengthy absences, while Union Berlin will make their debut in the competition.

What time does the 2023-24 Champions League group stage draw start?
The draw for this season’s Champions League group stage will take place on Thursday 31 August and is due to begin at 6:00 p.m. local time in Monaco. That’s 12:00 p.m. ET and 9:00 a.m. PT.
