Update:

The next stage of the FA Cup will be decided very soon. After the fifth round concludes this weekend, attention will quickly turn to the quarter-final draw.

Fans of the remaining clubs will discover their potential paths to Wembley when the balls get rolled around and randomly picked on Monday, March 9.

When is the FA Cup quarter-final draw?

The draw will be held at the London Stadium ahead of the Premier League game between West Ham United and Brentford.

It is expected to begin at 2:05 p.m. ET during the match’s pre-game coverage.

Supporters will be able to watch the draw live on YouTube, where it will be streamed for free.

Who will conduct the FA Cup draw?

The draw is expected to be conducted with the help of former England goalkeeper Joe Hart, with our usual hope that he goes full Rod Stewart.

FA Cup quarter-final draw ball numbers

At the time of writing, only one fifth-round game has been played – with Liverpool getting the job done against Wolves – but the Football Association has already confirmed the ball numbers for the draw:

  1. Fulham or Southampton
  2. Port Vale or Sunderland
  3. Newcastle United or Manchester City
  4. Leeds United or Norwich City
  5. Mansfield Town or Arsenal
  6. Liverpool
  7. Wrexham or Chelsea
  8. West Ham United or Brentford

Once the fifth-round ties are completed, the winners will take the corresponding numbers into the quarter-final draw.

When are the FA Cup quarter-finals played?

The quarter-final games are scheduled to take place later in March, with the winners moving one step closer to the semifinals at Wembley Stadium.

With at least one Premier League side in each game, romantics will be hopeful of an upset or two to ensure a lower-league side gets through.
