Appointed as USMNT boss on a two-year contract in September, Pochettino oversaw a 1-0 win in last week’s first leg in Jamaica, Ricardo Pepi scoring the game’s only goal after just five minutes.
The win in Kingston came a month after Pochettino had kicked off his USMNT tenure with a double header of friendlies: a 2-0 victory over Panama in Austin, Texas, followed by a 2-0 defeat in Mexico.
The winners of the USMNT and Jamaica’s last-eight tie will not only progress to the Nations League finals, which are to be played in Los Angeles in March. They will also seal their place at the 2025 Gold Cup, which will be hosted by the US and Canada next June and July.
