Erling Haaland suffered a groin injury before the recent international break and missed Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.

On Wednesday, City posted a video of Haaland returning to training, suggesting that he will be fit to feature in the club’s match against Southampton on Saturday.

After the Premier League fixture against the struggling Saints at St Mary’s, City will take Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals on 11 April.

The Bundesliga side are well aware of Haaland’s threat from his time at Borussia Dortmund and have just appointed former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel as their new head coach after sacking Julian Nagelsmann.

Haaland’s first season at City

Haaland has scored an astonishing 42 goals in all competitions in his first season under Pep Guardiola, who will be turning to the forward as City challenge for the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup before the end of the season.

After City’s win over Liverpool, they sit eight points behind league leaders Arsenal but have a game in hand.
