Following the stunning acquisition of Lionel Messi, securing their inaugural title with the 2022 Qatar World Cup champion pulling the strings, reaching the final of the US Open Cup, and recommencing their 2023 MLS campaign with a triumph in which the number ‘10′ marked his league debut with a goal, Inter Miami has formally announced the commencement of the construction phase for the Miami Freedom Park.

When will Miami Freedom Park open?

The anticipated debut year for The Herons’ new venue is 2025, aligning with the expectation that Barça’s legendary Argentine will lead the inauguration of the social and sporting complex. This facility will serve as the new stadium for David Beckham’s team, saying goodbye to Fort Lauderdale for home matches.

Through a press release distributed on X (the platform formally known as Twitter), the South Florida franchise cummunicated:

“Inter Miami CF today announced that construction began on Miami Freedom Park earlier this month. The Inter Miami CF stadium, 58-acre public park, and entertainment district at Miami Freedom Park are scheduled to open in 2025 and the official groundbreaking ceremony will take place later this year. Miami Freedom Park is a 131-acre development anchored by a new 25,000-seat fútbol specific stadium.

This exciting milestone is the latest step forward for the project in 2023, part of curating an environment that will make Miami Freedom Park a year-round destination for all Miamians and visitors to enjoy.”

What will Miami Freedom Park’s capacity be?

It’s worth noting that the new stadium will boast a seating capacity of 25,000, along with a hotel, shops, and restaurants within the complex. Jorge Mas, joint owner, emphasized: “With Inter Miami, my family set out to build something truly transformative […] By creating a multifaceted space, we will set a new standard for what sports complexes can be.

“We look forward to providing a dining and entertainment destination for families to enjoy throughout the year. I can’t wait to welcome our fans to our state-of-the-art stadium and hear the chants as Messi and his Inter Miami players take to the field for the first time in 2025.”
