Mauricio Pochettino has left Chelsea by mutual consent.

The manager joined Chelsea in 2023 and has left the club as the season has come to a close. As Todd Boehly looks for a replacement to the ex-Southampton boss, we take a look at what could be next for the man himself.

Where could Mauricio Pochettino end up next?

Manchester United

Manchester United, while they still have a manager in Erik ten Hag, could well be a suitable destination for Pochettino. The Argentine has been linked with the north-west club for a long time and if INEOS, Manchester United’s new ownership group, end up getting rid of the Dutchman, then Pochettino’s experience with young players in the Premier League could be a suitable option.

Bayern Munich

Thomas Tuchel is on his way out of Bayern after a dreadful season which saw Harry Kane, the poor soul, go trophyless once again. Pochettino, on the other hand, despite never winning a trophy at Spurs, was instrumental in Kane’s rise to becoming one of the hottest strikers in Europe. Why don’t they swap?

Barcelona

It appears that Xavi Hernández is on his way out of Barça and a man who knows how to play in the style that Barcelona like is Mauricio. However, this is more of a wildcard option as the Argentine has been, on plenty of occasions, linked with Real Madrid, and it’s safe to say that those two clubs don’t get on too well.

Argentina national team

While Lionel Scaloni is continuing in the role, he has already semi-waved a white flag to signal the end of his time as boss of the world champions. It’s an exhausting role and Scaloni has taken the team to new heights in the modern age, cementing his name in history. While nobody wants to be ‘the guy after the successful one’, Pochettino certainly has the know-how to get players motivated and fighting at the top.
