It’s safe to say that Eden Hazard has failed to replicate the form he showed with Chelsea in the Premier League since his transfer to Real Madrid. After yet another season warming the bench in the Spanish capital, and with one year left to run on his contract, he appears to be inching ever closer to a move across the pond to Major League Soccer.

Although the Belgian has indicated his happiness to see out what remains of his deal at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, a number of clubs are looking to add him to their rosters this summer, including several in MLS.

Vancouver Whitecaps and CF Montréal chase Eden Hazard

As reported by Spanish radio station COPE, Vancouver Whitecaps have added their names to the list of most interested parties, with fellow Canadian side CF Montréal having already expressed their desire to sign the 32-year-old.

Both clubs may have to play the waiting game if they are to snap up Hazard because of his aforementioned wish to stay in Madrid for one final year. However, there is a feeling that he could still be persuaded to leave Los Blancos in the summer transfer window if a deal can be agreed, considering he is considered no more than a bit-part player.

Hazard’s Madrid nightmare

This season, the former Belgium captain has featured in only 10 matches, scoring once and registering two assists. After a stellar spell in the Premier League with Chelsea, Real Madrid reportedly spent an initial €100 million ($108 million) to take Hazard to Spain. However, in four years at the club, he has played just 76 games, in which has has netted seven goals and assisted 12 more.
