Where will Lionel Messi play in Copa América?

There is a chance that this summer’s Copa América will be the final international tournament graced by Lionel Messi’s presence. The Argentina captain turns 37 next month and has already admitted that he is unsure if he will make it to the 2026 World Cup in the US.

Fans will be eager to get a glimpse of Messi, but where can they see him? Argentina’s only confirmed fixtures are the three group stage matches. Here’s the schedule for La Albiceleste...

Argentina schedule for group stages

  • Canada: June 20, Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Georgia)
  • Chile: June 25, MetLife Stadium (New Jersey)
  • Peru: June 29, Hard Rock Stadium (Florida)

If Argentina make it all the way to the final Lionel Scaloni’s squad will be on in familiar territory. The final of the 2024 Copa América will be held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Not only is that Lionel Messi’s new home, Miami is also the location of the luxury seafront hotel where the Argentina squad have been staying while they continue their preparations for the tournament.
