Which players will participate in the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge?
With five unique challenges to test their soccer skills we will see stars from MLS and LIGA MX compete to be the best in teams of ten players.
A 90-minute clash between two teams of eleven is so last century! What we want is a set of five challenges with two sets of stars from rival leagues going head-to-head, right?
Well, OK, we don’t want to get rid of the traditional format we cherish so dearly, but for those us who truly adore The Beautiful Game of Pelé, Cruyff, Maradona, Ronaldinho, Messi... [insert your own hero here], what’s not to love about a modern day skills battle? And Major League Soccer’s All-Star season has us covered.
What is the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge?
The two leagues of MLS and LIGA MX will each form teams made up of ten players and they will compete in what the organisers say is the ‘ultimate test of skills’. Taking place on 9 August at Allianz Field, Minneapolis, and the five challenges, which should be fairly self-explanatory, are:
