The 18th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards once again crowned the two standout names of 2023: Jude Bellingham and Aitana Bonmatí. In a new edition of the awards ceremony that was held in Dubai, the Barcelona midfielder once again confirmed her great season with the award for Best Women’s Player, beating Olga Carmona and Linda Caicedo.

Jude Bellingham was also crowned as the Powerhorse Emerging Player, a solid win for the Real Madrid star who managed to beat players such as Lamine Yamal, Gavi, Enzo Fernández, Moisés Caicedo and Arda Guler.

Which players won a Globe Soccer Award?

Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s forward, was chosen as the Best Men’s Player of 2023. The Norwegian, who was present in Dubai, beat a stellar list containing Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Vinicius, Bellingham, Mbappé, Messi, De Bruyne, Salah, Osimhen and Bernardo Silva.

The Maradona award for best goalscorer went to Cristiano Ronaldo, top scorer in 2023 at 39-years-old. The Al-Nassr forward shone how he does best, by scoring goals. He was also given the award for best player in the Middle East and fans gave him the award of Fans’ Favourite.

Rodrigo Hernández (Manchester City) was chosen Best Midfielder of the year, rounding off a historic season for the Spanish midfielder. Rodrigo was selected over Bellingham, Modric, Pedri, De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

The rest of the Globe Soccer Awards awards continued to reward Manchester City’s good year: Brazilian Ederson won the award for Best Goalkeeper while Manchester City were crowned the Best Club after winning the treble. The power of Manchester City also extended to the president, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who beat Florentino Perez, Joan Laporta, Pepe Castro and Joseph Oughourlian, among others, as the Best President of a football club.

Jorge Mendes was chosen as the Best Agent, Barcelona Femení won Best Women’s Club and Cristiano Giuntoli, Best Sports Director. In the coaching section, Lionel Scaloni, Argentina manager, won the Coach Career Award, although Pep Guardiola was given the Best Coach of the Year. And in the most surprising moment of the night, the Career Award of 2023 was given to none other than Casemiro.
