WOMEN'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Which stadium will host 2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League final?
UEFA has confirmed the venue for the final of the 2024/25 edition of the Women’s Champions League, Europe’s elite women’s club competition.
The 2025 Women’s Champions League final will be held at Lisbon’s Estádio José Alvalade, UEFA has announced.
Women’s Champions League final returns to Lisbon
The 50,000-capacity stadium, which is the home ground of Sporting Clube de Portugal’s men’s team, will be the second Lisbon arena to host the final of Europe’s most prestigious women’s club tournament.
The match was also held in the Portuguese capital in 2014, Germany’s VfL Wolfsburg beating Sweden’s Tyresö 4-3 at the Estádio do Restelo.
The Estádio José Alvalade will follow Bilbao’s 53,000-seat stadium San Mamés as the venue for the Women’s Champions League final.
Next season’s competition will conclude in the Spanish city on 24, 25 or 26 May 2024.
UWCL final venue size on the rise
The arenas chosen for the Women’s Champions League’s next two finals are evidence that UEFA, European soccer’s governing body, is now upping the required capacity of the showpiece event’s venues.
The 2023 final, which saw Barcelona beat Wolfsburg 3-2, was held at Eindhoven’s Philips Stadion, an arena that holds around 35,000 spectators.
The previous year, Lyon defeated Barça 3-1 at Turin’s 40,000-seat Juventus Stadium.
