Which teams can Real Madrid face in the Champions League quarter-finals?
Madrid got through after beating RB Leipzig. Now, the quarter-finals await.
Real Madrid are, once again, through to the Champions League quarter-finals after beating RB Leipzig in the Round of 16.
It was a tense affair over two legs, with Los Blancos struggling against the high press. However, as is the case with Real Madrid, they found a way through and now the final 8 awaits...
Who can Real Madrid face in the Champions League quarter finals?
In the Round of 16, things are a little more restricted, with group winners placed against the teams who came second. Also, two teams from the same country cannot face each other.
However, once we get past the Round of 16, there are no restrictions on who can face who, meaning that Barcelona can be drawn, home or away, against any team left in the competition.
When is the quarter-final draw?
UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon (Switzerland) is the setting for the draw (on Friday, 15 March) with all remaining teams set to discover both both the quarter-final and semi-final matchups. The draw for which team is the ‘home’ side at the Wembley final will also be carried out.
The proceedings get underway at 12:00 (local time) / 05:00 am ET / 02:00 am PT.
However, before that, we still have to find out the remaining teams from the fixtures still to be played, with Inter-Atlético and PSV-Dortmund scheduled for Wednesday 13 March. You can follow both games live on AS USA.
