The 2024 MLS Superdraft, which is sponsored by adidas, introduces some new changes or elements. Teams have the option to choose players who are in their second year or beyond, which opens up various possibilities for their selection. It is possible that sophomores or juniors may be chosen to come back to school and participate in the fall of 2024.

Prospects can make an impact on a team pretty fast and change a franchise future. The issue always being that teams need to be able to find the right fit for the position that they need. Is not always that a franchise gets the number one draft prospect if they don’t need to cover that position. That’s why we bring the best players per position.

This are the hottest prospects by position:

Goalkeeper:

  • Bryan Dowd of Notre Dame: Dowd is chosen as the leader of the goalkeeping group because of his impressive performance in leading Notre Dame to the NCAA final. In addition to being a youth international player with lots of experience, this young guy can do it all.

Center Back:

  • Nate Jones of Washington: Meyer received the title of Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. Beating other guys who have more international experience than him.

Left and right Fullback

  • Anderson Rosa of UCF: Named to the Sun Belt’s All-Conference Second Team and Named to the 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team. This is prolific talent that is ready to take the MLS by storm.
  • Grayson Doody of UCLA: Since his arrival at UCLA, Doody has undergone significant development and has emerged as one of the most skilled fullbacks in the nation.

Midfield

  • Hosei Kijima of Wake Forest: This prolific midfielder has shown what he’s made of, and it’s pure quality. He’s got more athletic tools than a hardware store on Black Friday and it shows weekend in and weekend out.

Forward

  • Logan Farrington of Oregon State: This clinical finisher is sort of made to be the next Duncan McGuire’s footsteps and conquer the college-to-MLS journey of epic proportions in 2023.

This year’s draft will be one to remember as the MLS starts to gain more attention. This is the moment where these young guys become the next big thing to happen to soccer or football whichever you prefer to call it.
