Atlanta United star Thiago Almada, a world champion with Argentina and the MLS MVP for the month of March, is the most valuable player in the North American league.

Having continued to perform outstandingly for Atlanta this season, it’s no surprise that Almada tops the MLS charts when it comes to estimated market worth.

His recent player-of-the-month award came after he scored four goals and supplied four assists in four appearances for the Five Stripes. In the process, the 21-year-old made MLS history: no player in the league had ever been named MVP for the month with such figures.

These transfer-value figures, compiled by market-worth specialists Transfermarkt, are an indication of the growing calibre of player that the US’ elite men’s soccer division is attracting. Year on year, MLS is strengthening its standing among the world’s domestic leagues.

Since joining Atlanta in 2022, Almada has scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists in 36 appearances for the 2018 MLS champions.
