The latest FIFA rankings have been revealed which have caused a stir amongst fans the world over. The definitive list of which team really is the greatest in the world and in what order cannot be disputed. The argument-ending, conclusive evidence of the best teams in the world is here: and Mexico are exactly where they were before.

Despite getting to the final four of the Nations League after beating Suriname and drawing with Jamaica, El Tri remain in 15th place; they will look to gain more momentum in the rankings when they take on the USMNT in June.

Speaking of Hudson’s side, the US moved up to 13th place in the list, two places above Diego Cocca’s side. Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, The Netherlands, England, Belgium, Brazil, France and Argentina are all above the Concacaf sides.

A Mexico-USMNT double-header coming up

However, the two sides are above the likes of Uruguay, Denmark, Colombia, Nigeria, Poland and Japan, among others. The USMNT and Mexico will play each other on 6 June in the Nations League, but before that they will face off on 19 April. This game comes outside of the regulated FIFA international calendar, meaning that only local league players from MLS and Liga MX will be able to form part of the squads.
