Who is Cristian Inda, Chivas’s 17-year-old goalscoring debutant?
Teenager Inda enjoyed a dream start to this senior career at Chivas Guadalajara, scoring in his team’s Liga MX win over Necaxa.
In a thrilling Liga MX matchup at Estadio Akron between Chivas Guadalajara and Necaxa, head coach Gabriel Milito made a bold move by giving minutes to academy product Cristian Inda. The 17-year-old midfielder stepped onto the pitch and quickly etched his name into club history, scoring the goal that rounded off a 3-1 victory for El Rebaño Sagrado.
Who is Cristian India?
Inda hails from Tepic, Nayarit, and plays as a holding midfielder. He’s already part of Mexico’s U-18 national team setup and has tasted success with Chivas’s youth set-up in the continental club game, having won the CONCACAF U-18 Championship.
According to Transfermarkt, Inda was promoted to Chivas’ U-23 squad earlier this year. Not long after, Milito called him up to the senior team, where he made his professional debut - logging 11 minutes and scoring a stunning goal from outside the box.
This season, Inda also featured in the Liga de Expansión with Chivas’ affiliate team, Tapatío, facing off against Atlante, Tlaxcala, and Correcaminos. He was also named to the squad for matches against Tepatitlán and Leones Negros, though he remained on the bench for those games. His consistent performances earned him a spot on Chivas’ first team.
Chivas eyeing postseason place
Chivas are enjoying a positive run of form. After a rocky start to the tournament, they’ve climbed to 10th place in the Apertura 2025 standings, putting them in contention for a direct spot in the playoffs. That position would secure them a place in the play-in round, where they’d battle for one of the final two tickets to the big dance.
