England swept Senegal aside with ease in the last round with a comfortable 3-0 win; the reigning champions beat a lacklustre Poland side 3-1 to advance through to the quarter final. Both teams come into the game having impressed in different ways, with Southgate’s side looking solid and uncomfortable to play against and France looking very fluid in attack and defence.

Gareth Southgate has recovered Raheem Sterling after the forward rushed home to be with his family after a break in at his home but it is not known if he is OK to play and Ben White is unavailable due to personal reasons. Apart from that, the England squad is at full strength to take on France.

Les Bleus were quick to squash the rumours that had journalists scrambling when Kylian Mbappé didn’t train on Tuesday, but it was nothing to worry about and the player is perfectly well. Didier Deschamps also has a full squad for the clash.
