They qualified as Nations League finalists an this is just their second appearance at the tournament. Whatever the outcome of tonight’s game, the Canaleros have already improved their Copa América record, having dropped out at the group stage in their debut appearance in 2016.
Bielsa’s Uruguay looking strong
Rounding off the quarter final stage in Paradise, Nevada will be a mouth-watering contest between Uruguay and Brazil - two of the teams tipped to lift the trophy with a combined 24 titles between them. Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay have arguably looked the most focused, putting in three cut-throat displays during the group stage which they finished as the tournament’s top scorers.
Brazil endured a shaky start, and have looked unpredictable and much less cohesive as a team in general. Apart from a 1-4 victory over Paraguay, the Seleção have appeared less than convincing and were held to draws by both Costa Rica and Colombia. But it’s what happens from now on that counts and you can never rule out Brazil, however erratic they might seem.
